VASCULAR STUDIES
Decreased blood flow can occur in the arteries and veins anywhere in the body, which become occluded. Dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, headaches, and/or brief loss of the ability to speak or move can be the early signs of a possible stroke. We have the experience and state-of-the art ultrasound equipment to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
This test is used to screen for electrical problems causing slow or fast heart rates.

ECHOCARDIOGRAM
This test is used to examine the four heart chambers, valves and blood flow. An image is recorded while painless ultrasound waves are passed through your heart. It shows the heart muscle contracting and indicates which area of the muscle is damaged.

CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION
This test requires a brief hospital stay. A small catheter (a hollow tube) is placed in the blood vessel of the leg and advanced to the heart, where pressures are measured and dye is injected to obtain pictures of the heart and its coronary arteries.

PACEMAKERS
This device is used to maintain a steady heart beat. It generates regular electrical signals that spread through the heart muscle. These signals trigger the heart muscle to pump blood out.

NUCLEAR STRESS TEST
Your doctor may order a drug study or treadmill test in order to obtain more specific information about the blood supply to the heart muscle. This test involves having two sets of pictures taken that allow the physician to compare the amount of blood flowing through the heart muscle during stress and rest state. An intravenous injection of a radioactive material called Sestamibi will be given followed by pictures that are taken while you are sitting in a chair that moves slowly in front of the camera.

SPIROMETRY
This test is used to evaluate your breathing functions and capacity of your lungs.

30-DAY EVENT RECORDERS
This is a patient activated device for recording short periods of the heart beat to document abnormal heart rhythm.

24-HOUR HOLTER MONITORS
This device is used to record the heart beat for a 24-hour period in order to correlate the changes in heart rate and rhythm with activities or symptoms, such as palpitations.

MANAGEMENT OF CHOLESTEROL DISORDERS
We offer a full range of services dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cholesterol disorders. These include complete blood lipid (fat) analysis, medication management and behavioral changes in diet and exercise habits.

STRESS TESTS
Stress testing provides objective information about your exercise capacity, your level of conditioning, the stability of your rhythm during exercise and your blood pressure response to exercise.

MANAGEMENT OF BLOOD PRESSURE, HEART DISEASE & HEART FAILURE
Blood pressure readings show your heart is working effectively to pump blood through your body. These readings are key in diagnosing heart disease, such as hypertension and heart failure (damage in the heart muscle which keeps it from pumping blood forcefully). We treat these conditions with various medications, surgery, heart assist devices and behavioral changes in diet and exercise.
